Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE):
Electronics is one of the largest growing and expanding sector in the world. B. Tech in Electronics and Communication is a course in which all the basic, as well as complex properties of electronic instruments, are taught. The first year of electronics and engineering course is dedicated to teaching students about basic engineering techniques such as Engineering Mathematics, Fundamentals of Computing, Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering Drawing. From second year onwards, the students start learning about the core Electronics and Communication Engineering subjects like digital electronics and logic design; fundamentals of communication engineering, electronic circuits, signals and systems, power electronics, applied electromagnetic theory, integrated circuits, VLSI, control systems and computer architecture. These are just a few to mention.
The course is of 4 years, divided into first year and 6 semesters each of about 6 months. At the end of 1st year and each semester, an examination is held to judge the understanding of the students in that year/or semester. To get admission into B.Tech in Electronics and Communication under convener quota one needs to clear the entrance examination conducted by the State Government. For management quota, the general criteria are that one should be 10 + 2 passed with 50% aggregate and Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the optional subjects.
Electronics and Communication Engineering course give enormous job opportunities in electronics and software companies. Core companies offering jobs to Electronics and Communication Engineers are :Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Intel, Samsung Electronics, Sony, Toshiba, Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, LG Electronics, Nokia, AMD, CISCO, HP and IBM:The above companies are just a few to mention.
